THE GREAT DIVERSION COMBINES elements of post-hardcore and rock to create a hard-hitting rock genre reminiscent of the early 2000’s emo music. The power trio distinguishes itself by its melodic pop sensitivity and heavy-hitting breakdowns. Hailing from Timmins and Hawkesbury, the band has found its home in Ottawa. After kickstarting their career with the release of their debut EP “Rocks and Rapids” in 2015, The Great Diversion has been hard at work preparing its upcoming full-length album “This Is It… This Is the End.”. Released on October 2020, this album won the award for best production and arrangements at the Capital Music Awards 2021.

ORIGINAIRE DE TIMMINS ET HAWESBURY, The Great Diversion combine des éléments de post-hardcore avec des sonorités pop, livrant ainsi une combinaison intense rappelant la musique emo du début des années 2000. Cinq ans après la parution de leur EP « Rocks and Rapids », le groupe est revenu en force en octobre 2020 avec l’album « This Is It… This Is The End. ». Établi à Ottawa depuis quelques années, le groupe a récemment remporté le prix pour meilleure production et arrangements aux Prix de la musique de la capitale 2021 pour ce nouvel opus de 9 chansons.
